In NOLI, Jule, an out-of-work actress, earns her living as a daycare educator. Between auditions, she finds solace in the stories she invents and tells to children. When she discovers NOLI, a feminist audio pornography app, her life is turned upside down. This fictional universe opens her mind to new and unprecedented perspectives. She becomes aware of the benefits of addressing adults as children and children as adults--with sincerity, patience and humility.
NOLI explores themes of sexuality, intimacy, and finding one's authentic self. The lesson is about the importance of open and honest communication, setting boundaries, and pursuing relationships and experiences that align with one's values and desires. It encourages us to listen to our innermost needs and to create spaces where we can express ourselves freely without shame or judgment. It celebrates erotic art and sex-positivity as a vehicle for empowerment.
After our translation workshop, the text of NOLI will be ready for the next step in our co-production process.
