We have been hard at work to bring you an innovative, hybrid presentation of Sarah Berthiaume's Antioch. It will be streamed in glorious binaural sound in December, so get your best headphones ready. This project was partially developed over Zoom, rehearsed, filmed and recorded using all COVID protocols. This play features the most famous pissed-off girl of all time--Antigone. No worries, there is nothing ancient about her! It stars our three dedicated actresses: Nora Guerch, Mona Maarabani and Cara Rebecca Lyne Paquette Artistic and Executive Director Our next production is... We are proud to announce that Antioch by Sarah Berthiaume, translated by Iris Cronin, will stream in December. This project was funded by CALQ's Exploration et déploiement numérique and CCA's Digital Now program. Antioch will be the directing debut for the talented Sophie El Assaad. This will also be Talisman's first time collaborating with visual dramaturgs, the rising star duo of potatoCakes_digital. This sound extravaganza will be masterminded by the talented Jesse Ash. Sophie El Assaad, Jesse Ash, potatoCakes_digital A sneak peek at 2022 Isabelle Bartkowiak With translation being so central to Talisman's mission, we have once again joined forces with Playwrights' Workshop Montreal, this time on The night of the 4th to the 5th by Rachel Graton. In these translation workshops, the emerging theatre translator Katherine Turnbull will be mentored by the marvelous Alexis Diamond. At the helm of this online reading will be Isabelle Bartkowiak, a recent graduate from NTS. Welcome to the team! We lost our administrator earlier this year, Patricia Saxton. After 3 years of great work and dedication (half during the pandemic), she has moved on. Talisman will now benefit from the administrative services of Artopole. It takes 2 people to replace Patricia :) Amélie Saffré (administrator) and Hélène Couture (bookkeeper). Amélie is a graduate from HEC in the Cultural Management program. Hélène studied theater and art history at Laval University in Quebec City. Welcome to both of you! Amélie Saffré Hélène Couture Our office building gets a mural The mural was designed and painted by Ankhone who wanted to offer to the citizens an artwork which permits to feel transported for a moment in the timelessness of the present moment. The composition of the artwork takes place in a peaceful undergrowth in which we can see a wooden cabin, which can be seen metaphorically as a calm and soothing window towards a space of tranquility, in full urbanity. The flight of geese symbolizes a positive reading of the future. This is part of an initiative proposed by the Eco-quartier Peter-McGill in the cadre of their greening, embellishment, and urban agriculture projects. The mural was accepted by the Montreal Mural Art Program, and is funded by the City of Montreal and the Borough of Ville-Marie 1857 Boul. Dans ces ateliers de traduction, la traductrice émergente Katherine Turnbull sera encadrée par la merveilleuse Alexis Diamond. Amélie Saffré Hélène Couture Notre bureau a une murale La murale a été conçue et réalisée par Ankhone qui a voulu offrir aux citoyens une œuvre d'art qui permet de se sentir transporté dans l'intemporalité du moment présent, ne serait-ce que pour un court instant. La composition de l'œuvre prend place dans un sous-bois paisible dans lequel on peut voir une cabane en bois, qui peut être vue métaphoriquement comme une fenêtre calme et apaisante vers un espace de tranquillité, en pleine urbanité. Le vol des oies symbolise une lecture positive de l'avenir. Cette réalisation fait partie d'une initiative proposée par l'Eco-quartier Peter-McGill dans le cadre de ses projets de verdissement, d'embellissement et d'agriculture urbaine. La murale a été acceptée par le Programme d'art mural de Montréal, et est financée par la Ville de Montréal et l'arrondissement de Ville-Marie. 1857 Boul.
